Programme Director - Managing Director – Risk Culture & Supervision, Commodities & Global Markets – London

Macquarie's Commodities & Global Markets (CGM) Group is seeking to hire a Managing Director in London within the Risk Culture & Supervision team (RC&S) to run the change programme for its first-line Supervisory Portal.  CGM recognises that risk culture, effective supervision and good behaviour are at the centre of its’ culture and are key to its on-going success.  This is a high-profile, global project, sponsored by senior management, reporting directly to the Global Head of RC&S.  It is fundamental to RC&S’s roadmap. 

As the Programme Lead, you will be working closely with the Product Sponsor and other key stakeholders to design, build and deliver the Supervisory Portal.  You will have day-to-day ownership of project management and governance (i.e. project co-ordination, and reporting, release management including delivery risk and prioritisation, full change cycle of requirements through to UAT and delivery, stakeholder management, etc.).  Balancing driving our own ambitious book-of-work, alongside any externally driven commitments, will be a key part of your role.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience of strategic and complex programme delivery in projects related to front office financial or commodity markets trading or risk management.
  • A commercial delivery approach, that can balance sustainable and strategic product, with incremental delivery. 
  • Strong project management skills and proven  team leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Focused on data leverage data to support ideas and decisions presented to senior management.
  • A curious and innovative mindset, be a self-starter, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail, yet ability to deliver strategically and sustainable is essential. 
  • A high level of confidence and strong communication skills, so that you can not only build good relationships, engendering trust and confidence, but also be able to challenge and mediate between senior stakeholders where necessary..

About Risk Culture & Supervision team and Commodities and Global Markets

RC&S is CGM’s specialist, first-line of defence team, dedicated to this critical risk area. The RC&S team work directly with CGM’s global management, front office supervisors, first-line operational risk (Business Operational Risk Management), specialist second-line risk and other support functions to enhance the existing supervisory tools and control suite, as well as CGM’s conduct-related processes.  In CGM, you will be part of a global business offering capital and financing, risk management, market access, physical execution and logistics solutions to its diverse client base.
