Senior Manager/Vice President - Risk Culture & Supervision

RC&S is CGM’s specialist, first-line of defence team, dedicated to this critical risk area. The RC&S team work directly with front office supervisors, first-line operational risk (BORM), specialist second-line risk and other support functions to enhance the existing supervisory tools and control suite, as well as CGM’s conduct-related processes.

The primary responsibility of this role is to be the first point of contact for the day-to-day operation of the CGM RC&S program of work, in the ANZ region.  This will include providing advice and guidance to colleagues and stakeholders across all supervision control and system queries; being local lead on conduct related issues; being the local representative of RC&S in local governance meetings; responsible for the production of guidance materials and other program centric materials. Additionally, you will play a role in the design of the CGM’s supervisory framework and the associated implementation of processes, controls (including supervisor training) and reporting. You will be expected to co-ordinate with your global peers to ensure fair and equitable treatment of CGM staff.  The role provides you with an opportunity to work in a global cross-divisional group within CGM with counterparts in Houston, London, New York, Singapore and Hong Kong, and will give you direct exposure to senior stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • 5+ years’ experience working in a position related to front office financial or commodity markets trading or risk management.
  • A commercial risk management approach, with a strong ability to collect, analyse & interpret data to support ideas and decisions presented to senior management.
  • A curious and innovative mindset, be a self-starter, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail, yet ability to see the longer-term, strategic picture is essential, as is a strong commitment to integrity. 
  • A high level of confidence and strong communication skills, so that you can not only build good relationships, engendering trust and confidence, but also be able to challenge and mediate between senior stakeholders where necessary.
