Join the Futures division of our Commodities and Global Markets Group (CGM) in our Chicago office as a Business Solutions Analyst! You will have the opportunity to utilize your data management skills across the following areas:
In this role, you will assist in the maintenance of CGM Futures bespoke in-house back office systems, manage system deliverables and the implementation system enhancements. You will work within a Futures Commission Merchant (FCM) / Clearing environment, and partner with global peers within Operations and Commodities & Global Markets, to ensure consistent controls, systems, and processes are in place across the teams. In addition, you will use your technical skills to investigate issues raised by front/middle/back office support areas and to manipulate large data sets.
CGM Futures is a global business and utilizes a “follow the sun” approach. The Chicago office works closely with affiliate offices in Sydney and London. Macquarie Futures operate a hybrid schedule (3 days a week in the office). The core hours of the group from 7:30am – 6:00pm and this is operated on a shift basis, however the candidate will need to be flexible with regards to hours of work in accordance with market and business demands.
The successful candidate will feature as a member of the North America COO team with a focus on providing business solutions. More broadly, you will need to pay close attention to the detail, display an innovative work approach, enjoy working in a team environment and possess a natural ability to build relationships with key stakeholders.
Our ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience in financial services, with a preferred focus on Listed Derivatives and an understanding of Futures and Options. General knowledge of execution and clearing processes around Commodities, Energy and Equities markets is also a requirement for this role, as is competency in reviewing and implementing internal controls.
We need a self-starter with the drive, passion and ability to problem solve. The position requires a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree (Business/Accounting/Finance preferred) and excellent communication, written and presentation skills. The candidate will also have the opportunity to work towards a Series 3 license within the first year.
Technical skills required include Microsoft’s suite of products including proficiency with VLOOKUP and pivot tables within Excel. VBA and SQL knowledge is preferred.
