Apex is currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Cash).  As a member of the Cash Transfers team, you’ll be responsible for building high-reliability, high-volume services that move millions of dollars each day over an increasingly diverse set of “rails” (ACH, Instant Cash, PayPal, Realtime Payments, and more).  You’ll work closely with our product and platform teams to add more rails and make everything cloud-based and customizable.  Cash services fund customer accounts, making them an essential part of Apex’s suite of financial back-office solutions with high standalone value as well.

What you will do all day:

  • Deliver results -Collaborate with those around you to produce lean, pragmatic solutions in a predictable and transparent way.  Using modern tools and techniques with lightweight agile process, you will join a team of engineers writing, reviewing, and shipping high-impact solutions for Apex customers.
  • Become an expert - You will be a strong backend engineer, but also learn the industry and earn your Ph.D. in Apex products, tools, and software stack.
  • Blaze trails - Discover and define business and technical requirements for new features and products.

The skills you will need to succeed:

  • 4+ years of experience in software engineering
  • Deep expertise in at least one modern language (Java, Golang, C#, C++)
  • Ability to learn new things (languages, tools, frameworks) very quickly
  • Expertise working with databases (SQL and/or noSQL)
  • Proficient using version control systems
  • Proficient with software test and automation tools
  • Proficiency in Java preferred
  • Experience with noSQL databases preferred
  • Proficiency in Git and automated build/deploy environments preferred
  • Experience with service-oriented architectures preferred
  • Familiarity with functional programming preferred
  • Financial services background preferred
