The Role:

The HR Operations Manager is responsible for the effective and consistent coordination and implementation of HR business processes, functions, and procedures; partnering closely with the Chief Culture Officer, business leaders, and shared services HR teams. 

 

This full time role is responsible for the unification of new and legacy processes that support and foster a frictionless employee experience and will act as the main stakeholder in the new hire onboarding process and Workday implementation. Working closely with the Finance team, this role will oversee the preparation of data to facilitate payroll processing and will be responsible for promoting data integrity across systems through accurate reporting, file audits, and Shared Drive organization. 

 

This individual will utilize a problem-solving and growth-oriented mindset while being highly focused on employee engagement, org design support, identifying learning opportunities, and team member relations. 

 

What You’ll Own:

  • System:
      • Serving as Lead on the implementation and ongoing setup of Workday to support the experience of our athletes, coaches, creators, business team, and interns 
      • Creating processes, policies, and enable our systems to protect the company legally and financially while creating efficiencies 
      • Maintaining employee data, including processing changes, auditing the data, and aiding future self-service initiatives
      • Owning and maintaining team members hard and electronic files, including accurate form collection by employment type, regular I-9 and team member agreement audits, ensure compliance with state and federal laws
      • Organizing and maintaining the Shared Drive across the Culture team 
  • Employee Experience Focus:
      • Building relationships with business leaders, team members, and within the HR organization across our parent company, PEAK6, shared services, and Evil Geniuses
      • Providing seamless and client focused aid to our employees, acknowledging questions and resolving issues in a timely manner, throughout the employee lifecycle
      • Acting as first point of contact for employee benefits and systems issues
      • Completing new hire onboarding process from beginning to end, including but not limited to new hire tracker maintenance, new hire communications, hiring manager communications, background check and fingerprinting clearance, and IT partnership
  • Policies & Process
    • Utilizing knowledge of HR practices, policies, processes, and systems in a multi-state environment
    • Partnering with the Chief Culture Officer and team to develop new and innovative processes and policies to help drive key people initiatives across the organization including team members on-boarding, compensation, talent acquisition, performance management, workforce planning, professional development, and succession planning
    • Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process workflows
    • Keeping up with the review of Employee Handbooks, including partnering with policy owners/reviewers across departments, identifying federal and state regulation changes and international variations, and suggesting how to make the document more effective and comprehensible
  • Payroll
      • Partnering with Finance to run the payroll for our athletes, creators, interns, full time and contingent workers
      • Preparing changes for payroll, and realizing the downstream impacts of HR data on payroll and finance
      • Ensuring all employee f
  • Reporting
      • Setting up reporting in Workday that enables the business to make informed business decisions 
    • Ideating and implementing an audit schedule and reporting to share with the Chief Culture Officer
  • Other:
    • Owning project management across the Culture team
    • Assisting the Chief Culture Officer from time to time with employee relations and investigations 
    • Hold up immigration program, processes and initiatives


What You’ll Bring:

  • 6+ years of experience working in a high-growth, fast-paced, and changing environment
  • Experience and excitement to work with complex employee populations and payroll
  • Experience with implementing, setting up, and maintaining Workday
  • Understanding of  federal and state regulation changes and international variations
  • Strong Excel expertise and comfortable with working with large and complex data sets
  • Proven partnership ability – both strategist and practitioner of PEOPLE programs – with a strong track record of successfully implementing people programs and initiatives
  • Proven analytical ability and attention to detail 
  • Bachelor’s Degree

    • Work at the detailed level as well as program strategic level
    • Flex style between the needs of our teams
    • Work with a sense of urgency, in a fast pace and solve problems with limited information while maintaining a high sense of customer service

Compensation Range for this role: $98,200.00 - $144,800.00
