ABOUT THIS ROLE

As a Senior People Data Analyst, you will play a crucial role in transforming our people data into actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving our reporting and analytics capabilities, ensuring data accuracy, and providing excellent customer service to our stakeholders. You will be a key partner to the People team and business leaders, helping them understand trends, identify opportunities, and improve the employee experience. You thrive in fast-paced environments and are always looking for opportunities for automation and process improvement. 

 

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Develop & Maintain People Analytics: Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports within Power BI and Workday to empower the People Team with self-service data access. 

  • Stakeholder Collaboration & Insight Generation: Work closely with the People Team to understand their business needs, translate them into data requirements, and design/deliver complex reporting and analysis solutions to provide rich insights into key people challenges and opportunities (e.g., performance management, organizational health,  & attrition). 

  • Data Governance & Quality: Maintain and audit custom report and calculated field catalogs within Workday and Power BI, ensuring data cleanliness, accuracy, and consistency across all platforms. Collaborate with People leadership and other teams within HR to identify and implement improvements to data quality and consistency within our HR platforms, with a focus on Workday. 

  • Reporting, Analysis & Support: Fulfill ad hoc report requests to support the People Team, special projects, and executive leadership (e.g., executive dashboards, in-office data analysis). Establish, automate, and maintain regular analytics reports to ensure timely and efficient delivery of key metrics for the People Team. Provide excellent customer service by responding to report requests promptly and accurately within our Zendesk ticketing system. 

  • Implement & Support HR AI Initiatives: Support the implementation and ongoing success of AI-driven HR initiatives, including contributing to the development and training of internal bots. 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science/Analytics, Business Analytics, Computer/Information Science with Data Focus, or another quantitative field (or equivalent work experience) required. 

  • 5+ years of experience working on people data analysis at a tech or fintech firm. 

  • Proven experience with data analysis and visualization tools; proficiency with Power BI is required. 

  • Deep understanding of Workday custom reporting. 


Required Skills/Abilities

  • Demonstrated expertise in building robust data models from complex data sources to generate actionable insights and influence decision-making. 

  • Experience interpreting and translating business user requirements into compelling dashboards and reports that drive actionable insights. 

  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy. 

  • Ability to effectively communicate data insights through compelling narratives, visualizations, and summaries that invite discussion and drive action. 

  • Identifies, analyzes, and resolves complex analytical problems using diverse approaches to find solutions. 

  • Can manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment 

  • Excels at SQL coding to deliver optimized HR data for reporting, dashboards, and analytics initiatives.
