This is a unique opportunity to work with company leadership and experts in Operations teams as we continue to disrupt and innovate within the industry. Along with functional ownership of Operations teams, Apex is looking for a Director, Operations that is eager to work on improving processes beyond their own remit. You will need to have the ability to communicate effectively with senior members of the various business units of the firm, as well as Sales and Product / Technology teams. The successful candidate must demonstrate the highest professional behavior, drive, commitment, strong business and technical expertise, and superior industry knowledge.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage with experts to build deep understanding of the Apex business and processes
  • Provide supervisory support to Operations teams
  • Act as a point of expertise and escalation to peers, company leadership and junior team members
  • Establish team goals and measures of success
  • Challenge the status quo and drive continuous improvement within the department
  • Help the Product team design tools and business logic needed to optimize client experience and service automation
  • Work collaboratively within Operations and with Sales, Product, Risk, Compliance, Legal and Technology
  • Ensure team deadlines are met and deliverables are of a high standard
  • Communicate updates across the organization for transparency and information-sharing
  • Display enthusiasm and self-motivation to overcome obstacles and demonstrate a positive approach in the face of difficulty while encouraging the same approach in others

Qualifications:

  • 7 + financial services experience supporting institutional or retail clients
  • 5 + years Broker Dealer or custodian bank experience, in a management capacity
  • Extensive knowledge of trade and position lifecycle
  • Equities and Options experience and knowledge
  • Experience in industry engagement
  • Client service experience
  • Active FINRA License 7 or 99
