Head of Broker Strategy, Americas & EMEA

Point72’s Broker Strategy team is responsible for ensuring the firm’s access to the highest quality resources from the sell-side in its pursuit of superior, risk-adjusted returns. We dive deep into our investment teams’ needs, our execution and financing requirements, and the constraints and priorities of our banking counterparts. Leveraging this information and strategy, we maximize the long-term value of our global compliance-approved broker relationships firmwide. 

What you’ll do

In this role, you will collaborate internally with the firm’s investment, trading, and treasury teams to understand Point72’s requirements and wallet. You will further be instrumental in understanding the constraints, priorities, and capabilities of our external partners. Success means synthesizing this information to craft and deliver firmwide and region-specific messages to our counterparties, with the result of maximizing the long-term value of these partnerships. Specifically, you will:

  • Lead the Americas and EMEA Broker Strategy team, as a senior leader in the Treasury team
  • Craft and execute the Firm’s strategy for development and maximization of its counterparty relationships in the US and EMEA, also working closely with the Head of Broker Strategy, APAC
  • Develop analytics and reporting to evaluate counterparties’ resource delivery
  • Facilitate identification and value discovery of sell-side resources consumed by the firm
  • Coordinate an effective balance of payments with the firm’s sell-side partners, including collation and provision of qualitative and quantitative feedback, within a structured process
  • Discover new value-add opportunities from the sell-side community for the firm across research, trading, financing, and general market access
  • Collaborate closely with the global Treasury team and senior management on relevant matters
  • Partner with Compliance to ensure highest level of ethics, integrity, and compliance at all levels

What’s required

We are looking for a detail-oriented person who is analytically driven and intellectually curious. Someone who will step into this role and innovate while promoting and fostering the firm’s culture.

  • 7+ years of experience with a good understanding of the banking and hedge fund industries with broker relations experience
  • Prior experience working for a hedge fund and/or a prime broker
  • Well-grounded financial counterparty relationship management skills
  • Demonstrated track record of direct and successful engagement with banks and brokers
  • Experience collecting and leveraging data to identify opportunities and solve problems in a financial industry context
  • Excellent communication, presentation, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Strong team player who can get the most out of their team, while also deploying their own excellent program-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast pace and entrepreneurial environment
  • Expertise in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), industry systems, and a demonstrated aptitude to learn new systems

The annual base salary range is $300,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
