The Middle Office Technology Team supports trade processing, position keeping, and trade management systems. The team partners with Middle Office business users to customize and implement solutions supporting trade processing scale and stability.
What you’ll do
In this role, you will develop high performance UIs and the occasional rest APIs. Responsibilities include developing reusable components, reusable APIs, component libraries and HTML / CSS in support of sophisticated visual design and UX. We run an agile process interweaving Design, Product Development, and Software Engineers to produce high quality applications. You’ll work with these teams and users to understand the requirements, using your software development intuition with a highly capable team to create effective and achievable products and processes. Specifically, you will:
• Contribute to ongoing feature development within multiple complete web applications
o Implementing UI using Angular as the primary framework
o Using wireframes and shared components to implement UI
o Writing custom components that are reusable
o Implementing product requirements into UI code and design
• Develop shared components and publishing them to other developers in the firm
• Incorporate Design wireframes and feedback
• Incorporate developer feedback and improving public interfaces
• Use various methods like REST, RPC, WebSocket for communicating with internal/external systems and services to acquire and distribute data
• Collaborate with various clients, product teams, design teams, and developer teams to identify needs and create optimized, efficient code for their consumption along with clean UIs for them to use
• Maintain documentation and tests where required.
What’s required
• Passion for building mission-critical, elegantly engineered, scalable systems
• 3+ years of experience in Typescript and Angular
• Thorough understanding of asynchronous mechanisms used in modern JavaScript development (Promises, RxJS Observables, etc.)
• Good understanding of HTML / CSS separate from frameworks
• Professional, and precise communication skills
• Experience creating self-contained, reusable, and testable modules and components
• Comfortable operating in a fast paced, Agile environment
• Fluency with Git source code management
• Experience creating configuration, build, and test scripts for Continuous Integration environment
