On our proprietary research team—Market Intelligence—you’ll partner with our Investment Professionals and Compliance team to uncover insights about companies, industries, and the broader economy through deep fundamental research and applying data science and engineering techniques to alternative data sets. You’ll work alongside a talented team with diverse skills, backgrounds, and perspectives. Our industry researchers, product managers, and data scientists and engineers work together to build compliant research products that answer the questions our investment professionals care about most. ABOUT THE PROPRIETARY RESEARCH – MARKET INTELLIGENCE INTERNSHIP
An Proprietary Research – Market Intelligence internship at Point72 provides individuals interested in pursuing a career in Data Research at an investment firm with valuable, hands-on experience. During the 10-week program based in our Singapore office, you will:
- Provide industry context and business fundamental to our team of data scientists and engineers and delivery synthesized insights to our Investment Professionals as you partner with them on their research needs
- Be assigned to a sector, where you will develop subject-matter expertise on the key themes and KPIs that drive the industries and companies in your coverage
- Compose research reports that synthesize research findings on behalf of our investment professionals
- Interact directly with our investment professionals, learning the discretionary investment process from them and helping drive more informed investment decisions
- Collaborate with our proprietary research teams including Product, Data Sourcing, and Data Science and Engineering to source and extract the most value out of new and existing data assets

WHAT’S REQUIRED
- An Expected bachelor's degree from Dec 2024 to Summer 2025
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and project management skills
- Superb business intuition and a solution orientated, methodological approach to problem solving
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Synthesizing clear takeaways from complex information derived from both qualitative and quantitative methods
- An understanding of and passion for how companies, industries and sectors operate and function
- Intellectual curiosity and an eagerness to find out if your conclusions are right or wrong
- Proficiency with Excel and/or data processing/programming (SQL or Python)
- Experience leveraging data analysis as part of fundamental research process for business, public policy, finance, engineering, applied sciences, or other quantitative fields a plus.
