The Middle Office Technology Team supports trade processing, position keeping, and trade management systems. The team partners with Middle Office business users to customize and implement solutions supporting trade processing scale and stability.
What you’ll do
- Coordinate with Business users and Middle Office Technology leadership to maintain and refine existing applications within your domain, and deliver functional enhancements supporting the Firm’s fast-evolving business requirements
- Participate with department leaders and other managers in drafting the system design of a totally new platform for Middle Office to modernize transaction processing, trade management, settlement workflows, position keeping, profit and loss calculations, and data dissemination across the firm and beyond
- In the context of the modernized platform, spearhead the creation of components within your team’s sphere of responsibility
- Train, encourage, and lead members of your group to create a cohesive and effective team
- Work with the Heads of Middle Office Technology to strengthen the department overall through your leadership of a specific vertical within the larger organization
- Contribute to budgeting, project and resource planning, performance management, and recruitment, as well as career development initiatives
- Promote a culture of cooperation and maintain close working relationships with other technology managers and teams to advance cross-team initiatives
- Work with Support teams to manage and resolve operational issues
What’s required
- 10+ years of work experience managing technology teams within the financial services domain
- 10+ years of programming experience with Java or c# as well as SQL and databases
- Experience working with investment systems supporting trading, post-execution trade flows, trade lifecycle, position and PnL generation, and portfolio management
- Fluent in the software development life cycle and software development tools
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with both technical professionals as well as business users and executive leadership
- Deep familiarity with modern technological development paradigms including microservices, messaging, cloud-native, multithreading, advanced unit testing, and others
- Desire to maintain technical skills through code reviews and individual contributions
- Commitment and adherence to the highest ethical standards
