What You'll Do:
As Project Manager on our team, your responsibilities will cover infrastructure and business application technology projects. The scope of the Technology projects will span across the Firm’s trading, portfolio and risk management, and back office systems, as well as firm-wide strategic initiatives (such as our business continuity program) and infrastructure related projects.
The role will involve working closely with the various IT teams and business stakeholders to understand project requirements, represent the business initiatives, and determine resource requirements and prioritization. You will then be responsible for working closely with the respective IT leads to manage the portfolio of projects and track progress to completion.
The PMO responsibilities of the role will include metrics and reporting around technology projects, trend analysis on trade volumes and incidents, as well as a variety of key IT Measurement metrics.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
- Contribute to the development of the overall technology strategy by managing complex projects from design through implementation
- Be the central point of contact for the programs you manage. Communicate effectively to engage with senior internal clients and provide synthesized and clear recommendations to Point72 management on risk management and escalation of issues that cannot be resolved in the team
- Coordinate across all stakeholders (technology and business) to ensure deliverables/requirements are clearly defined, dependencies are well-known, and the risks/issues are understood
- Actively manage stakeholders’ expectations, resource alignment, and possible conflicting priorities across the projects
- Lead scope definition and communication sessions. Utilize negotiation skills driving the project team and stakeholders to make timely decisions and deliver projects on schedule and within budget
- Identify risks, plan for unanticipated outcomes, and form appropriate contingency plans
- Clearly define the roadmap for the projects and programs with clear goals, milestones, and timelines
- Establish project/program governance to ensure all stakeholders are aware of the risks/issues and status of the programs with a clear escalation path to resolve open items
- Monitor project budget and expenses to ensure project is delivered within budget.
What’s Required:
- 5+ years of overall technology experience with 3 – 5+ years in a Project Manager/PMO type position.
- Proven track record of delivering large-scale transformational projects and programs in the financial services industry
- Excellent analytical, business, communication, decision-making, leadership, and organizational skills; ability to express strong views while working in a team environment
- Solid knowledge of financial markets
- Demonstrated ability to use project management tools (MS Project or equivalent)
- Fluent in the Software Development Life Cycle (Waterfall and Agile) and software development tools.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and provide project progress and financial metrics.
