Securities Lending Trader, Asia Pacific
A Career with Point72’s Securities Lending Team
The Securities Lending Team operates within the Firm’s broader Treasury division, responsible for financing the Firm’s multiple asset classes by interacting directly with Point72’s prime brokers to source liquidity and negotiate financing rates. The team also utilizes data analysis to identify market trends and maximize financing efficiencies.
Point72 is a global asset manager, trading in a multitude of financial markets around the globe. As a Securities Lending Team member, you’ll have first-hand exposure to these markets while learning about a broad range of asset classes and how they’re financed. In the financial markets, no day is the same: you’ll encounter new challenges and new situations which require your assistance in finding solutions.
What you’ll do
- Locate hard to borrow securities with the Firm’s approved brokers to manage short side liquidity
- Monitor and actively manage financing costs on cash and swap positions and pay-to-holds in Asia
- Compile and distribute borrow color and analytical reports to portfolio managers assisting them in their investment processes
- Participate in regular idea generation meetings hosted by portfolio managers
- Work with Point72 Compliance to ensure the Firm maintains compliance with applicable policies and regulation
What’s required
- 2-4 years of sell-side, client facing experience or PM servicing experience at a multi-manager hedge fund
- A good understanding of Asia Pacific stock markets and the associated nuances
- Passionate about investing and with a desire to learn more about our portfolio manager’s investment processes
- Fluent in English and Mandarin
- Self-starter, can work independently
- Good problem solving and analytical skills
- Detail oriented
