Our Application Support Team’s mission is to deliver a stable production environment for our investment professionals to safely grow their businesses while quickly responding to and remediating system outages and client needs. What you’ll do
As an Engineer supporting Data Engineering Technology, you will support and monitor the applications and data for research applications, which are designed to provide useful market information that may influence investment decisions. Specifically, you will:
- Monitor any new application or data requests/issues, take ownership of cases, act promptly to resolve, and monitor until closed
- Monitor system stability and performance
- Manage users on-boarding, off-boarding, entitlement/access changes in Data Engineering applications
- Learn and use support tools/systems to solve user requests and continuously work on improving our systems to innovate and automate for increased efficiency
- Continuously improve documentation of routine processes and add new articles based on new knowledge
- Collaborate closely with developers, QA, and end users to solve issues, respond to user requests, prevent issues, and make system improvements
- Coordinate with other technology and business teams on production issues and high impact changes
- Proactively communicate potential problems, jump on issues, engage relevant parties, and follow through with root cause analysis
What’s required
- 6+ years of experience as a Production Support Engineer
- 3+ years of experience with SQL
- Strong communication skills and a self-starter mentality
- An interest and passion in the understanding of financial markets and instruments
- Strong troubleshooting, coordination, and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented data analytical skills and ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
- Responsible, able to multitask, and client oriented
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
- Understanding of data pipelines in the cloud, preferably AWS
- Commitment to the highest ethical standards
