P&L Reconciliation and Analysis Analyst

The P&L Reconciliation & Analysis team is a control function within Operations that ensures the P&L between our Front Office systems (Panorama, Murex, and the Grid) matches our Books and Records system (Geneva) for all Portfolios. P&L variances are monitored on a daily, monthly, and YTD basis and must be resolved in a timely and efficient manner.

What you’ll do

Perform daily and monthly P&L reconciliation between the Front Office and Back Office systems for the Firm’s portfolios

Coordinate with MO, BO, & the Valuations team on P&L break resolution

    • Product scope includes but not limited to Equities, Fixed Income, & Derivatives
    • Generate daily P&L variance reports for several internal teams
  • Finalize Portfolio Manager’s P&L in our Front Office systems on a monthly basis via the True Up process
    • Consists of allocating PM financing and adjusting for any residual P&L variances between the Front Office and Back Office systems
    • Completion within a designated time frame required for the PMs, Risk, and Investment Services teams who utilize the finalized P&L figures for future decision-making, investor statements, and yearly compensation purposes
  • Assist in responding to ad hoc P&L queries from the PMs, Trading, and Investment Services
  • Participate in continuous improvement of the team’s processes via automation and/or identifying and correcting process inefficiencies

 

What’s required?

  • Finance/Business background preferred
  • 0-2 years experiences in either the Product Control or Operations department of a Hedge Fund
  • Superior problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong and positive work ethic, self-motivated, confident.
  • A “team-first” attitude with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to a changing environment
  • High attention to detail aimed at delivering a product that meets our best-in-class standards
  • A self-starter who is able to work independently
  • Takes ownership and holds accountability
  • Knowledge of financial instruments preferred
  • Must be comfortable in the use of Excel. VBA skills not required but are a plus.
