Where You Fit In?
The Shell Trading and Supply Engineering group is a global team of 200+ Engineers. This team has full accountability for the Reliability and Integrity of the asset base of Distribution Operations, as well as for project delivery. The group also has operations and technical accountability for Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) production assets and will take full development, operations, and technical accountability for other smaller projects within the RNG portfolio.
This is expected to result in 6-8 facilities entering the operate phase over the next three years. The Sr. Facility/Process Engineer blended position will report to the RNG Lead Facility Engineer for the Americas. As our business grows, the LFE RNG role will be part of a multidisciplinary team of Process & Facility Engineers supporting our different processing assets geographically scattered across North America.
Sr. Facility/Process Engineer - Renewable Natural Gas
What is the role?
The purpose of this blended role is to provide Facility and Process Engineering support to processing facilities enabling them to operate safely, reliably and cost effectively, as well as to support asset management in alignment with appropriate technical and operating standards.
Key activities include the following:
Support to the operations/production team to ensure excellence in process safety, reliability, margin/energy optimization, and cost management.
Plays a key role in Asset Management, Project Development, and Maintenance Planning and Execution. Support the project team by providing preliminary scope, operations, and stakeholder information to the Project Manager
Assure startup plans adequately provide the appropriate operational documentation, barriers, and controls by participating in HAZOPs, applicable HAZIDs and design reviews.
Plays a lead role in alarm management reviews to minimize standing alarms and improve quality of master alarm database.
Expect around 30% travel mostly within North America (construction and commissioning may require additional travel and extended time at site).

You must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
Minimum of 8 (eight) years of solid experience in facility process engineering in Oil and Gas industry
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required, preferably Chemical
Demonstrated stakeholder management skills and ability to communicate across all levels of the organization
Embed Lean mindset culture via participation in continuous improvement activities and workshops
Technical Assurance in the design, construction, and operation of systems.
Advocates Motivating, Coaching and Developing others including excellent collaborative behaviors.
Experience in working regionally and virtual networking will be an asset.
