What’s the role?

As Product Manager, candidate is the IT Lead responsible for managing the "IT Product Space”, working closely with the Product Owner in the business throughout the product lifecycle. Responsibilities include co-creating the product vision, executing discovery and customer research, and ensuring delivery of the Product roadmap with the IT delivery organization. The Product Manager will have full or partial accountability to manage relevant stakeholders, budget, resources, technology roadmap, strategic dependencies, execution, maintenance of the product and business alignment.  Works independently with some managerial supervision.

Accountabilities include:

  • Collaborates with the Global Business Owner to set the product vision and bring forward the best technology/solutions to solve business problems.
  • Co-creates the product roadmap and success metrics, fulfills the product lifecycle within Enterprise compliance and controls framework.
  • Manages senior level stakeholders for the product space across Shell to ensure tight orchestration, early warning on new requirements and early warning on potential unmet needs and problems.
  • Creates value delivery through product development, performs financial management, and sets the right product environment and mindset for the product team
  • Builds and leads the product teams and focuses on maximizing the adoption of high-impact digitalization.
  • Drives ‘scale and replicate’ interventions pursuing technology automation and optimization initiatives across the product space.
  • Works tightly with IT Managers across the IT business portfolio to enable the agreed business face-up model and drive alignment on delivery roadmaps across other IT functional lines.
  • Engages and utilizes the cross-functional natural team to manage risk and assures product management in line with agreed ways of working.
  • Works with Finance to select the right funding and recovery model, informing decisions around product investment through defined roadmaps and backlogs.
  • Drives, through the cross-functional natural team, compliance to agreed technical Enterprise standards, promoting understanding of architectural roadmaps into the product team.
  • Partners with the Operations team to implement DevOps where possible and ensure proper transition to support.

What we need from you?

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
  • Minimum seven (7) years relevant work experience delivering complex IT Projects working in Trading and Supply domain.
  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
  • Ability to hold and deliver against a 'product vision.
  • Strong agile and product-oriented delivery experience.
  • Strong experience leading Full Stack, Data Engineering, and Data Science products teams.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Full Stack, Data Engineering, and Data Science technologies.
  • Strong team leadership, business relationship management, and communication skills.
  • Strong experience with multi-year roadmap/resourcing/investment strategy.
