The role involves working on IT software development projects, discretionary or operational, for business portfolio-based solutions. The individual will be a part of Software Engineering division, which is a subset of IDE and comprises six or more capability centers that provide natural sets of skills at scale to promote continuous improvement of functional excellence. The capability centers offer methods, standards, best practices, platforms, tools, and external insights to support and accelerate capability development. The role also provides access to communities of practice, expertise, and learning, fostering innovation and excellence.
What’s your role
Assisting with top quartile Application Development for the business portfolio-based solutions, catering to the critical changes agreed with the Business
Performing IT software development work on project, discretionary or operational items such as Technical Estimation, Technical Analysis, Technical Requirements Definition, Technical Solution Design, Technical Specification & Acceptance Criteria, and Technical Test Plan design and execution
Performing, assisting with, or providing technical consultations for: Unit, System, Integration or End-to-End testing for fixes, enhancements, or new development/Projects
Liaising with a diverse set of business portfolio and IT stakeholders, as required
Adhering to applicable Shell code development and code management standards
Serving as technical SME/liaison to partner teams for providing technical advice, guidance, standards, troubleshooting assistance and process coaching
Supporting ITSO operations in security, incident/problem management, change management and other run and maintain activities by serving as a subject matter expert in relevant technical area
Championing global streamlined technical processes and information standardization, as well as all IT procedure and policies
Work with Natural teams and 3rd party resources to provide Shell domain technical knowledge and expertise
What we need from you
5-8 Years of IT experience in Mainframe technologies
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering or equivalent
Strong background of working majorly on Mainframe Development projects
Well versed with standard IT delivery process and widely used processes like Agile
Specialist knowledge in CICS, COBOL, DB2 and JCL is a must
Capacity to manage complex interfaces across organizational and geographic boundaries in both the Project team and the service delivery teams. This requires the capability to manage multiple tasks and can network / influence to achieve results
Ability to solve complex technical challenges through initiative and creativity (e.g. leveraging personal industry contacts, performing external technical research, etc.)
Capacity to develop/expand functional knowledge of the Trading & Supply business, as required supporting technical assignments
Familiarity with Trading terminology, business process workflows, and Commodity/Oil Trading domain knowledge is a desirable requirement.
Knowledge of FOCUS and Mainframe tools such as OPCA, Endevor, File Manager, BMC, etc. is an added advantage
Any applicable technical certifications are a plus
