Where you fit

Consumers in India are highly selective and hugely receptive in picking out a brand they can trust. Shell Automotive Lubricants India have an exciting plan to reach out to such consumers through a value chain comprising of Trade, Garages, Franchise Workshops & Mechanics. Distribution to these value chains is led by a team of dedicate Sales reps managed by capable Distributors.

As Area Sales Manager for Automotive, you will deliver top line growth by selling Shell Customer Value Proposition (CVP) in line with Shell’s HSSE policy and General Business Principles. You will coordinate with business finance, credit, customer care centre, sales support, and logistics teams to ensure the implementation of the strategy for the sector and for its growth

What’s the role?

As Area Sales Manager for Automotive, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Handling the OE Franchised Workshop business (existing customers & building new prospect pipeline) for the Assigned Region
  • Supporting the indirect teams to deliver the FWS (Franchisee Workshops) targets.
  • Managing a Target & Off Role Staff to achieve Volume, Net Proceeds and targets as per T&R plans.
  • Working Capital Management with correct Sales forecasting, good credit control as focus areas and deliver business plan within outstanding collections and targets. Take business decisions that reduce risk to business and are profitable to Shell.
  • Maintain and grow good working relationships and business associations with the OEM Commercial, Sales and service teams.
  • Drive the business through new /prospective customers, supporting for conversions and ensuring increase in market penetration and market share.
  • Effectively manage direct costs within the business and ensure competitive cost structure for business conduct.
  • Working along with the marketing team to build, support, develop and implement marketing initiatives and business growth strategy.
  • Utilize all available resources effectively for business growth and manage interface with support functions for the business.
  • Adhering to Shell General Business Principles in all transactions and conduct of business with external parties; demonstrate and inculcate this behaviour.
  • Demonstrating commitment to and be responsible for HSSE and the company’s commitment on sustainable development; inculcating safety conscious behavior, with external parties; meeting own safety targets as per the performance contract.
  • Demonstrate inclusive behavior in all aspects of the company's work, provide equal opportunity and treatment to people from both genders, different cultural and ethnic backgrounds and recognize and respect different ways of thinking.

What we need from you

  • At least MBA/PGDM graduate with work experience of at least 4 to 6 years selling B2C products.
  • Significant Sales experience, with proven success in developing profitable business, preferably with Channel and Customers.
  • Previous Distributor/ Indirect Management experience is desirable but not necessary.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide consultation to Distributor(s).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and able to build trust and constructive relationship with Distributor.
  • A good overall understanding and experience of the Lubricants business is desired, but not essential.
