Asst Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

MRTA (Maintenance, Reliability, Turnaround) is about understanding and maintaining our equipment as effectively and efficiently as possible, making sure it performs as intended. The Maintenance discipline covers the development of maintenance strategies and the planning, coordination, and execution of Maintenance activities. It ensures safe, defect free and efficient operations through the regular upkeep of equipment and tools in the most cost efficient and timely manner.

What’s the role?

As Asst Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, your key accountabilities include the following:

  • Support the maintenance team in execution of mechanical related maintenance works in the process unit.

  • Be familiar and comply to the site CMMS process (Asset Management System) in managing plant maintenance work.

  • Strive to comply and achieve the maintenance targets (HSSE, Meeting Plan, KPIs, Budget, etc) as set for his/her team.

  • Initiate, review, plan, coordinate and execution of preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and reactive/corrective maintenance.

  • Undertake all maintenance activities related to Corrective Action Inspection Request (CAIR) and Management of Change (MOC) activities related to the Production Unit.

  • Request, review, compare, raise Purchase requisition for services, parts, equipment etc.

  • Integrated team member in maintenance and inspection strategies which are developed jointly with operations, Maintenance Turnaround and Construction (MTAC), engineering, technology, E&S and other stakeholders.

  • Support the supervision of at least 5 contractors in driving productivity like Time on Tools to optimize resources and costs.

  • Train and develop Crafts/Maintenance Technicians, Assistant Engineers, and Engineers and in executing and sustaining work processes.

  • Participate in cost control to keep routine maintenance, projects, special maintenance and shutdown spending within budget and phasing.

  • Propose and implement innovative ideas in productivity, competitiveness, sustainability, and digitalization.

  • Uphold first time write execution with proper SOP, existing or develop new.

  • Follow through execution with EQCC signs off for completion.

What we need from you

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Diploma/ Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

  • Minimum 3 years relevant working experience.

  • Knowledge of craftwork appropriate practices, typical time required for completing frequently executed activities.

  • Understanding of HSSE requirements for maintenance work.

  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Working knowledge of SAP.

  • Knowledge of materials procurement.

  • Able to work independently and yet participate as a member of a team.

  • Certified WSQ Apply Workplace Safety and Health in Process Plant (AWSHPP) would be an advantage.
