The Downstream & Trading Reporting & Analysis Organization is a team of >1,000 colleagues providing accurate, timely and insightful analysis to deliver more and cleaner energy solutions.  

Within the Downstream & Trading Reporting & Analysis Team, there is a large team responsible for Global Lubricants PAR. This role reports into the Global Lubricants GKA, Mktg & LSC PAR Manager and is directly responsible for in delivering R&A support to Global Lubricants GKA and NBD business working closely with the GKA PAR Lead. This role will also work closely with the business – GMs, GAMs (global account managers) on PAR activities for business associated with NBD GKA business.

What’s the role? 

The Global Key Accounts and NBD business is home to around 60 of the most strategically and materially important global accounts within Global Lubricants, delivering consistent year on year growth, and over $650M C3 and over 1,100 ML per annum across multiple business sectors (PCMO, Truck, MCO, Industrial and New sectors). Approximately 70 - 80 % of GKA business is under formula pricing, and this is an increasingly complex and important area of focus to ensure value delivery.

NBD GKA PAR Analyst role is key in supporting the Global Lubricants GKA and NBD business in providing a top quartile financial performance information and planning processes to support decision-making by these businesses.

The role would appeal to candidates interested in planning a career in Business Planning & Appraisal that has significant exposure to Global Lubricants GKA and NBD business. It would suit a dynamic individual who is flexible, who wants to add value to a commercial business’ bottom line and who is willing to challenge the current understanding of the business, balancing the right amount of challenge and support, while building networks / relationships outside of Finance.

NBD GKA PAR Analyst should be collaboratively working with R&A Lubes NBD GKA PAR lead, R&A business analysts within GKA and most importantly with business GM and account managers. Responsibilities of PAR Analyst will consist of but not limited to deliver the following:

  • Responsible for providing Reporting, Margin Analysis and Planning/LE support to NBD/GKA
  • Assurance for NBD/GKA results across the regions and provide timely and accurate insights on the overall results for GKA.
  • Timely, accurate Management information and Insights along with quarterly Appraisal packs.
  • Business performance management (BPM)
  • Support and deliver financial forecasts integrating with Regional forecasts
  • Leading Data/Process improvement projects for GKA, identifies and actions opportunities to reduce complexity and promote automation of reports through business intelligence tools and “big” data solutions.
  • Support the MYP (multi-year planning) process for NBD/GKA business which is annual strategic planning exercise.
  • Be the interface to global PAR teams for NBD/GKA business for all the inputs due on a periodic basis.
  • Drive the efficiencies/improvements in planning, LE processes using predictive tools and associated applications.
  • Working closely with the Controllers & Month end close Teams to ensure seamless flow of information on the business activities ensuring accurate and timely accounting entries for financial and management information purposes

What we need from you? 

You will inspire people to make changes that will have a direct impact on our success.  Furthermore, you will have: 

  • A Bachelors or master’s degree or Professional Qualification, in Accounting/Finance with exceptional numeracy skills.
  • 5+ year post qualification experience in business finance or FP&A roles from Marketing or Manufacturing Industry
  • Excellent oral and written presentation skills with the proven ability to articulate, challenge & influence senior management.
  • Sound knowledge of accounting.
  • Solid experience with planning and BI reporting tools like Hyperion, Tableau, Spotfire, SAP BO, BPC, Anaplan etc.,
  • Experience with financial modeling, handling large data using databases and excel macros would be an added advantage.
  • Experience with preparing management presentations. Experience with Thinkcell is desired.
  • Proactive, Independent and a Problem solver.
  • Deep understanding of Downstream Financial and Management Information Systems and Data Flows as well as a passion for leveraging technology to automate MI and increasingly build data-driven plans & forecasts.
  • The ability to process and link large volumes of incomplete information into a compelling set of actionable analysis for senior business leaders is key
  • Passion for the Downstream Business, The Energy Transition and a curiosity for how the business delivers value.
