Where you fit in
You will be part of the Shell Jurong Island (SJI) engineering team responsible for delivery of the site projects in Singapore. Provide leadership and expertise on all aspects of control and automation to the projects. Also, ensuring integration of the brown field projects into current facilities and other ongoing projects seamlessly.
Additionally, this role will act as a technical assurance engineer to ensure that implementations are carried out as per design and meets the project premise.
What’s the role?
As Project Instrument Engineer, your key accountabilities include the following:
Ensure project comply with relevant HSSE legislative and Shell group requirements. Participate in project HSSE reviews as and when necessary.
Report / Intervene any unsafe behavior or unsafe operating condition observed while working in the plant.
Ensure that all staff and contractors under his charge adhere to HSSE rules & regulations and procedures.
Responsible for the Instrumentation in the site project delivery team.
Responsible to support the project managers in Detailed Design with General Engineering Contractor, in-house design office and Specialist Vendor Engineering Contractor.
Support project managers for +/-10% cost estimate.
Responsible for procurement of all Instruments, valves, and ON/OFF valves and to issue PO to all the services required.
Responsible for managing all the interfaces with various parties (operations, HSE, process engineer technologist, contractors etc.)
Carry out Factory Acceptance Test/ Site Acceptance Test/ Kick Off Meetings when required.
Work with various Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure SJI work processes are implemented.
Review and approve Instrument discipline project documents produced by Engineering Procurement and Construction Management (EPCm) contractors and assume the technical assurance role.
Ensure lesson learned from past projects are applied during design phase and capture the lesson learned in the database for records.
Responsible for producing Issue for Approval/ Issue for Construction documents for in-house run projects.
Responsible to handover Issue for Construction (IFC) documents & equipment to construction and handshake with them.
Managing Quality Assurance for instrument engineering discipline during construction works.
Participate in the Pre-Start-Up Safety review and support Commissioning and Start-up for commissioning the assets.
Responsible to submit the As-built documentation to design office and handover copy of that documentation to maintenance for run and maintain.
What we need from you
To succeed in this role, you will have:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in delivering Instrument scopes in the capital projects.
Strong experience in field instrumentation and systems (Distributed Control System/ Programmable Logic Controller).
Proven track record of results in project delivery environment.
Experience in Safety Instrumented Systems would be an advantage.
Experience in commissioning/ start-up phase.
Understanding of HSSE responsibilities.
