The Role

Real Estate (RE) manages the Group's Real Estate portfolio, Shell Business Operations and Corporate Travel programme. Strategic intent is to enable Shell Businesses to deliver on their goals by creating safe, secure, and productive environments that allow people to perform at their best.

The rapidly growing RE scope is one of the globe's largest RE portfolios and includes offices, industrial / labs and accommodation for Shell Businesses, Projects and Ventures. Operational Excellence is a key global capability within RE and is responsible for enabling global RE integration and delivery of functional excellence through the provision of an integrated operating platform and solutions – People, Process, Technology, Strategy.

As the RE Operations Manager you will continue to build on an already delivery focused team in India and Philippines leading them to deliver safe, efficient, compliant and value driven Real Estate processes and solutions. You will inspire the team with your stakeholder management experiences, leading and coaching through the journey to world-class RE Operations. The RE Operations Manager is a member of the OE LT and the RELT-1 communities.

What’s the role

  • The RE Operations Manager leads a team of over 80 professionals, delivering core Real Estate operational capability in the areas of Contract and Maintenance Management, Performance and Processes (including Assurance and Process Architecture), Business Systems and Applications (including Lease Administration), Requisition to Pay (RtP), Travel and Business Support services (including Trade Controls, SharePoint) and Enterprise Security Solutions (DESS) within Real Estate.

  • You will work closely with stakeholders across the regions and global functional teams (including RELT and RELT-1 stakeholders) on process performance and managing operational reviews to evaluate and deliver strong collaboration to deliver as one RE team.

  • With all areas of RE, you will work in defining migration requirements associated with potential activities moving to RE Operations, and ensuring that appropriate plans are in place for the effective and reliable transition of scope – following the agreed SBO Migration Methodology structure.

  • You will pro-actively manage the development of roles to ensure talent growth and capacity is actively managed with succession planning in place – this includes working closely with the team within the SBO to understand future growth requirements, industry penetration of services and best practices

  • You will influence and support staff through coaching of how to position themselves with maturity in the organisation, how to prioritise and challenge to successfully develop their roles

Furthermore, you will bring:

  • A proven track record in business partnering, strong stakeholder relationships and management with ability to influence at senior leaders.

  • Be a seasoned professional with broad business, leadership and coaching experience for at least 15+ years of total experience.

  • Strong appreciation for cultural diversity, with excellent reputation in dealing with, working, and inspiring staff of multiple nationalities and related cultural backgrounds, underpinned by an ability to get things done through your forged good working relationships.

  • Have a clear proven track record as a leader and managing teams for at least 5 years.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including a proven ability to readily influence others and lead effective global networks, relationships.

  • Learner Mindset – Role model curiosity and reflection; encourage people to learn from mistakes and successes.

  • Maximise performance – Integrate and collaborate across boundaries to maximise commercial value for Shell as a whole.

  • Create the environment for others to feel empowered to deliver high performance through clarity on intent, priorities and outcomes.
