Terminal Operations Supervisor

The Role

To take a lead to ensure compliance of the terminal operations with all the relevant standards both internal and external (e.g. HSSE Control Framework, Trade Controls, DOSH, Customs etc.
To monitor and support all the terminals with their
TAS systems, R&I plan, AMP, and SSOP. To provide relief coverage to terminal operations during shortage of manpower and support execution of projects.


1) To conduct business in accordance with Shell’s Statement of General Business Principles.
2) To assist Terminal Manager in ensuring that there is an effective implementation of the company’s Business Controls Framework. This requires adherence to company policies, standards, guidelines and systems (procedures).
3) To be involved and participate in achieving KPI targets. This includes prompt collation, preparation
and submission of all reportorial requirements to monitor agreed KPIs.
4) To be involved, participate and comply with the defined Business Continuity Plan/Disaster Recovery
Plan to avoid disruptions in depot operations.
5) To be responsible for all maintenance management activities in Terminal including but
not exclusive to:
Routine maintenance, Gantry, Terminal Operations, Firefighting Equipment, Tanks, Jetty, Pipelines,
Electrical, Pumps, PRV/TRV, Hoses, Surveillance
6) To be responsible for the day to day execution of maintenance work, generally managed through
a computerized maintenance management system (GSAP PM).
7) To maintain HSSE critical equipment and ensure optimum working condition
8) To be actively involved in implementation and maintaining of the T&S Management Systems (example, TOM, LOP, HSSE MS, ERP, OSCP, AIPSM etc).
9) To be involved in obtaining the allocation of the necessary funds and business approval, construction and decommissioning of assets and project performance reviews during yearly budget exercise (T&R)
10) To assist Terminal Manager in ensuring that key issues in the terminal operations (using the Risk Matrix) are identified and that action plans are developed
11) To be involved in terminal initiatives/programs and its implementation. This may be on HSSE, Road Transport, GSAP, D-GAME, Finance, People, etc
12) To be responsible for verifying and monitoring preventive maintenance execution at the Terminal.
To ensure proper and timely execution of Reliability and Integrity (R&I) program, including Tank, Jetty
and Pipeline Integrity Program. (TIP, JIP and PIP).
13) To be part or the terminal Firefighting, emergency response/oil spill management team and shall participate in the required training/drills
14) To support and participate in all audits/reviews of the terminal (example MFV, SMBR, DOR, HSSE
SP, SIA etc
15) To support and supervise all engineering
Dimensions : projects in the terminal, including those initiated by Engineering
16) To participate in all regular HSSE meetings and ensure the integrity of documents
17) To supervise terminal operators in day to day work as well as provide training as and when
required
18) To maintain HSSE critical equipment and ensure optimum working condition
19) To become & maintain as a certified Shore Officer
20) As Shore Officer which involves:
I. Coordinating with the Ship representative and Terminal regarding any change in the discharge and/or loading plan
II. Ensuring that all shore operations section of the ship to shore checklist (SSSCL) is accomplished according to procedures and following HSSE standards as accredited shore officer.
III. Ensuring safe discharge and loading operations at the terminal and jetties.
IV. Maintaining and make available recommended and intrinsically safe telecommunications equipment for use during the entire duration of the product receiving and loading activities.
21) To become an authorize PTW signatory and authorize gas tester (AGT)
22) To be involve in Road Transport related activities
23) To act as the backup for the Terminal Manager in the event that there is a need to do so
24) To ensure and comply with the procedure for an effective hand-over activity between an
outgoing and an incoming staff (new or transferee).
25) To perform any other task as and when required by the Terminal Manager

Job Requirements:

  • University Degree in Engineering degree or any Degree in other fields will be considered

  • Open to FRESH GRADUATES or talent with 1 – 3 years of operations and maintenance experience are encouraged to apply

  • Looking for energetic individuals who are keen to learn and quick to action solutions in operational space

  • Team player with good interpersonal skills and proven track record of being self-motivated.

  • Able to work across multiple projects largely unsupervised and deliver results within challenging deadlines and under pressure.
