Endur Senior Business Analyst

The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced energy trading business analyst looking to expand their knowledge and be part of a strategic programme that will revolutionise the business. You will be working on a Greenfield, Cloud hosted Endur implementation, playing a key role in delivery from design through build to implementation and beyond.

You will be bringing your expertise to the team, working hand-in-hand with dedicated business SME’s to drive the requirements and design for Shell’s strategic ETRM solution. Through a combination of focused Endur training and working with existing specialists you’ll have an opportunity to build your knowledge in this leading ETRM system. 

As a business analyst, you will work alongside a team of highly skilled professionals, who have come together to pool collective decades of knowledge from multiple Endur implementations to rewrite the book on best practice, which is at the heart of what we do.

Not only this, but the expansive reach of this programme will give individuals the opportunity to build the depth of their end-to-end trading life cycle experience and expand their knowledge into new commodities.

The Role/Responsibilities

You will be working with the BA lead and business and IT stakeholders to fulfill the BA role over the full project life cycle, from scoping/requirements gathering through working with developers and testers to running user acceptance testing.  As an Endur BA you will also configure elements of the solution in the system.

Your role will vary depending on the specific area of expertise, however typically you would perform the following day to day activities:

  • Planning, delivery, and assurance of your workstreams business analysis deliverables

  • Driving and managing scope and design for your area, including assessing the risks, feasibility, opportunities, and business impacts of various solution options  

  • Coaching and mentoring of the junior members of the business analysis team 

  • Generating innovative approaches to existing problems or new opportunities

  • Stakeholder management - building relationships with key stakeholders, keeping them informed and managing expectations 

What you will bring

Business Analysis / Project Delivery Experience - Essential

  • Track record of end-to-end project lifecycle delivery 

  • Strong BA experience including capturing business problems, value drivers and functional/non-functional requirements 

  • Experience running workshops and user acceptance testing

  • Demonstratable stakeholder management skills, 

  • Experience mentoring junior team members

  • Experience working in Agile project delivery

Energy Trading Experience - Essential

  • Experience of energy trading markets, with a strong understanding of European Gas, including gas networks, balancing, scheduling, capacity, transportation, pricing, position, P&L and exposure management

  • A working knowledge of different trading instruments, including:

  • OTC transactions – Including forwards, storage, swing deals, swaps, and simple options

  • Exchange traded futures & options lifecycle including cascading 

  • Experience of energy trading markets, with a strong understanding of one of the following markets considered an advantage: 

  • European Power, European Gas and/or Environmental products

  • A working knowledge of different trading instruments, including:

  • OTC transactions – Including forwards, swaps, and simple options

  • Exchange traded futures & options lifecycle including cascading 

  • Detailed knowledge of at least one of the following functional areas:

  • Front Office - complex deal modelling, pricing, P&L and exposure management 

  • Middle Office - Market Risk and Risk Valuation

  • Back-Office – Confirmations and Settlements processes and/or Accounting processes

ETRM/CTRM Experience - Desirable

  • The ideal candidate will have ETRM/CTRM experience, but this is not essential if you have strong experience in another areas of energy trading applications

  • Endur skills are considered an advantage, however this is not essential as this programme will provide a fantastic opportunity to build or grow skills in this area
