The purpose of this position is to lead the Finance Operations team that is the sole provider to the Trading business of financial settlement and some specific accounting services for its various trading activities. Currently the team is broadly divided into two areas, North America (NA) and WONA (World outside NA). This role will specifically cover Global Energy Tradebook to Financials and related activities. Each day, Finance Operations processes transactions worth billions of dollars with third parties for Trading and hence poor process performance would have a significant impact on Group profitability, cash flow and reputation. Trading also has significant transaction numbers and value with Group Companies, and hence poor process performance can create significant issues between Trading and other Group Companies. Additionally, the Finance Operations team will need to provide top quartile support for the future growth needs of what is a vibrant and continually developing Trading business.

The organization has now moved from start up to a new exciting phase of stabilization. Over the next few years, the organization will move forward to hit top quartile targets, through operational excellence and process improvements. Additionally, a key aspect of the role will be to manage and develop a maturing organization. This will include staff and position planning and further work on building business and process knowledge to underpin the ongoing operations. In addition, there are numerous new business opportunities/entities that are being set up and FO TS support to these new businesses is seen as a critical piece.
