Where you fit in?
In the VP ship of Power, you are going to be part of the GM-ship of Electrification that will aspire to promote and support the use of renewable electrical power to replace fossil-based energy in industrial processes. You will be reporting to the Team Lead Integrated Electrification Solutions. The GM-ship includes a wide range of experts over the different areas of electrification from renewable generation to the various uses of renewable power to decarbonise industrial processes. The Integrated Electrification Solutions Team focusses on creating a differentiated and integrated solutions for customers.
What’s the role?
As an Electrification System Integrator, you will be working with multi-disciplinary teams in the techno-commercial development of profitable, differentiated, end-to-end integrated electrification solutions for industrial customers in Shell, Renewables & Energy Solutions (R&ES) and hard to abate sectors.
More specific responsibilities include:
Work with the businesses, the Electrification Products and other technology teams to identify and develop cost competitive customised integrated electrification solutions for customers.
Act as integrator, systems/process designer and lead the development of integrated electrification solutions from design to implementation and feedback learnings from operations phase
Act as consultant for internal and external customers to identify the path to zero emission and perform holistic techno-economic optimisation of customer assets for customers in industrial sector
Perform market, industry and competitor analysis including power markets, PPAs and decarbonisation incentives. Perform due diligence, screening, benchmarking and techno-economic valuation of specific technologies and integrated systems
Perform multi-energy hub techno-economical modelling and optimization of solutions
Develop common electrical architecture for design and reuse across applications
Translate customer needs into product offering. Leverage deployable solutions and in-house technologies across the value chain from generation, grid, storage and consumption.
Define and manage any system level testing required to validate and demonstrate the integrated product in collaboration with other teams
Support team members and providing training on Electrification topics.
Apply Shell’s procedures for development (DT BMS) and project execution (ORS).
Drive HSSE excellence for personnel, operations and in the inherent design of the integrated solutions.
Skills and Requirements
What we need from you -
It is your excellent technical and commercial expertise, end-to-end integration and stakeholder management skills, ability to rapidly learn and passion in the Energy Transition that will be crucial in creating a differentiated and profitable integrated Electrification.
Other key skills and requirements:
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
Master’s degree or higher from a leading institution in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, physics, or a related discipline with strong components of renewable power solutions, electrification technologies (e- products, storage, grid, digital etc) and electrical power and grid systems.
Strong working experience in relevant fields such as:
Commercial or techno-commercial opportunity identification and development in renewables space. Knowledge of power markets and PPAs.
Process systems design, process evaluations, techno-economic evaluations
Complex modelling, systems engineering, system optimisation
Carbon and Energy Management, Utilities, Process Engineering and Heat Transfer
R&D development, testing, scale up
Integrating systems with digital and cloud based monitoring and advisory systems
Industry and operational experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, and industrial sectors required. Consulting and client engagement experience preferred.
Proven experience in the development and deployment of opportunities to meet stringent customer needs.
Ability to fluently move focus from macro techno-economic requirements and trade-offs to detailed technical questions as required.
Experience in opportunity maturation, from feasibility to execution, preferably in both Shell and 3rd party led opportunities with a focus on electrification.
Experience with Deliver Technology (DT) BMS. Experience with the ORS. Knowledge of ‘agile’ project management a plus.
Experience in delivery in a matrix organization and natural teams. Leadership experience in leading teams, coaching, and mentoring.
Collaborative management style, with a commitment to an inclusive work culture and DEI.
Strong communication and presentation skills with experience providing technical support to customers and other commercial settings.
Demonstrated relationship management experience with technical and non-technical collaborators (internal and external) and at different levels of the organisation.
Experience in IP strategy and management.
