Algo Software Engineer - C++

JOB DESCRIPTION
Overview

Technology is what makes SIG’s systematic trading desk successful. Smarter, faster code makes the difference
between winning or losing on the most competitive markets in the world.


Every day our teams of traders and developers work together to push our proprietary trading systems to the edge
of what is physically possible. You will learn from very smart experienced developers how to implement trading
systems from scratch or hyper-optimise existing ones. We've got heaps of exchange and performance data for
you to chew on using our high performance clusters.


Your success is our success and we’ll be there to guide your development and make sure you’ll keep on
learning. Over time we’ll rely on you to help us build entirely new trading strategies for the existing markets and
new markets we’re always looking to.


What you’ll be involved with:
Partnering with Quantitative researchers and traders, working with a well establish codebase through iteration to
enhance, refine and evolve strategies. Tap into tens of petabytes of raw and well prepped full tick market data,
strategy decisions, fundamentals and many other data sources to understand market dynamics and find new
signals.

 


What we're looking for

Sig Developers are:

  • Focussed on delivery - able to execute ideas quickly and challenge for edge cases.
  • Take ownership of build with a focus on stable, scalable and optimised environment.
  • Able to take projects from initial design through to production.
  • Great communicators - able to interact with traders and quants – sharing ideas and testing theories.
  • Analytical thinkers used to analysing data and building model simulations

 

What we’re looking for:

  • Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years C++ experience
  • Strong problem solving and modelling experience.
  • Ability to absorb mathematical concepts and develop high-performance implementations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience or interest in areas such as capital markets, probability and game theory is a plus.
  • Experience or interest in statistics is a plus.
  • Experience of grid and/or cloud computing a plus.
  • Experience of Python is a big plus also.
