Bond Trader - Euro & UK Government

JOB DESCRIPTION
Overview

Due to our continued expansion, we are seeking to hire an experienced relative value trader focusing on strategies involving, but not limited to, the Euro and UK government bond markets. You will report directly to the Head of Fixed Income in Philadelphia. You will take advantage of our proprietary models and data and, also have access to technology and quant resources. This desk is a major growth area for SIG and joining at this stage provides a unique opportunity with significant prospects.

 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and run various types of relative value strategies involving, but not limited to, sovereign bonds, swaps, and other linear instruments in EUR & GBP
  • Execute all parts of the above strategies
  • Monitor market events, news, flows, and adjusting trading behaviour accordingly
  • Collaborate with team and rest of fixed income traders to improve strategies and keep colleagues informed about events and developments of importance

What we're looking for
  • Bachelors’ Degree
  • Ideally 3+ years of experience trading sovereign bonds
  • Strong knowledge base in and throughout the fixed income asset class with experience trading in sovereign bonds
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills in-order-to maintain productive relationships with internal and external counterparties
  • Familiar with Bloomberg along with various bond trading platforms
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills while able to demonstrate strict attention to detail
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure while remaining focused
  • Operate as a member of a team with a willingness to contribute and assist others
