Human Resources Business Partner

Tower Research Capital, a high-frequency proprietary trading firm founded in 1998, seeks a Human Resources Business Partner to join the Montreal office.

As the first HR Business Partner for Montreal, this role will establish deep relationships in both a generalist and recruiting capacity. Partnering closely with local managers and the global HR team, you’ll work to ensure our strategies and guidance fit the evolving needs, goals, and direction of our organization. As a recruiter, you’ll provide excellent candidate experience while managing and executing the full recruitment life cycle, from attracting candidates to closing them. You’ll develop proactive recruiting strategies for current and future business needs, including finding creative ways to directly source talent as well as partnering with external agencies.

Generalist Responsibilities

  • Managing all generalist tasks for the office including onboarding, employee relations, performance management, offboarding and other areas as needed
  • Acting as the first point of contact for employee inquiries for Montreal office
  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with the global HR team, sharing best practices, identifying opportunities for global consistency, and process improvements 
  • Leading Francization efforts to ensure compliance with local requirements 
  • Working closely with the Office Management and culture and events team to initiate and implement culture and events programs for the region
  • Partnering with the global HR Team on a variety of projects including L&D initiatives, performance review and other year end processes, succession planning, and organizational development initiatives

Talent Acquisition Responsibilities

  • Partnering with hiring managers to build a comprehensive understanding of their needs and to lead multiple unique searches
  • Leveraging Tower’s applicant tracking system and other recruitment-related applications to source and maintain relationships with prospective candidates
  • Managing full recruitment life cycle recruiting including sourcing, scheduling of interviews, offer extension, and contract generation
  • Tracking key recruiting metrics like cost per hire, time to fill, source of hire, sourcing channel effectiveness, hiring manager satisfaction, and candidate experience
  • Clearly communicating to candidates and external recruiting partners Tower’s Employee Value Proposition

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
  • At least 5 to 8 years of experience working in human resources
  • Experience working in Montreal for a US based company preferred
