DATA SCIENTIST

Duties: Apply machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques and big data technology to improve models and algorithms from large data for empowering insurance document recognition products; employ cloud computation knowledge to design and implement practical engineering solutions to improve statistical model performances, computational efficiency data and monitoring; apply state of the art computer vision and Natural Language Processing techniques to extract data from unstructured, complex and large data sets; develop data libraries and research tools, developing and maintaining a research infrastructure to accelerate future results; carry out independent investigations/scientific research studies and produce reports and data visualizations to communicate results; perform exploratory data analysis and develop predictive models (regression, classification, clustering) on terabyte sized structured and unstructured datasets; build efficient software solutions for statistical models, data ingestions and data visualization to support business and product needs; interact with industry professionals to understand their business and propose technical statistical approaches; perform quantitative, science-based research and data analysis and apply statistical modeling techniques to design and implement granular domain-specific indicators firm’s data, relating them to various statistical factors; manipulate statistical requirements for a set of dependent data analytics derived from a large portfolio of integrated data feeds streaming from our data research pipeline to improve quantitative/computational methods to sort, manipulate, manage and display data.


Minimum requirements: Master’s Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science or related Data Science field plus 2 years of experience in Data Science type of position(s) and experience using the required skills listed below.


Alternative minimum requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science or related Data Science field plus 5 years of experience in Data Science type of position(s) and experience using the required skills listed below.


Skills required: Must have experience using the following Data Science skills/technologies: Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence (“AI”); Natural Language Processing; ability to conduct exploratory data analysis and statistical testing; object-oriented programming including Python and Java; AWS cloud platform; system design and devops skills to design and implement model deployment engineering solutions; ability to deliver software modeling solutions; and ability to use data engineering skills to build ETL data pipeline for structured and unstructured data. Must also pass company’s required skills assessment.


Base salary: The base pay for this role will be between $165,000 and $300,000 per year. This role may also be eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits, such as a discretionary bonus, health, dental and other wellness plans and 401(k) contributions. Discretionary bonus can be a significant portion of total compensation. Actual compensation for successful candidates will be carefully determined based on a number of factors, including their skills, qualifications and experience.
