What we are looking for

  • Perform and further enhance the fundamental and quantitative analysis of hydrogen, ammonia, methanol and related commodity markets
  • Develop new models for the upcoming low-carbon commodity markets to anticipate costs, prices, demand and supply developments across all time horizons (short-, mid-, long-term) and regions
  • Analyze the viability and economics of future global trade routes for low-carbon commodities
  • Review external analyses (e.g. from consultants, think tanks, universities) and help to refine Uniper’s view on relevant fundamental drivers
  • Provide regular and ad-hoc briefings to relevant Uniper stakeholders using all applicable communication channels
  • Offer clear recommendations to trading desks, portfolio managers, originators, and strategy department with market analytical insights and expertise
  • Work closely and develop effective working relationships with peer analysts, traders and optimizers across multiple teams and locations to ensure optimal cooperation, information flow and decision making
  • Assume independent responsibility for selected key topics in the field of low-carbon commodities within the Market Analytics team

 

 

Who we are seeking

  • Excellent completed education in the field of Engineering, Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Environmental Sciences, Mathematics or similar, ideally with a focus on energy markets
  • Solid understanding and professional experience in commodity market analysis, preferably in the field of hydrogen and other low/zero carbon commodities required
  • Practical experience in operating and administrating fundamental and/or econometric market models desired 
  • Experience in working with databases and handling data required, programming skills (R, Python, VBA etc.) as well as experience with visualization software solutions (e.g. Power BI) desired 
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills 
  • Orientation on results and proactive attitude to support existing processes and drive new developments 
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills to effectively work in an international and diverse environment; represent market analysis towards a range of stakeholders and ensure timely and transparent exchange within and beyond the Market Analytics team 
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team and under time pressure, ability to be focused in changing environments and adapt to stakeholder requirements 
  • Fluent English (written and spoken) required, knowledge of additional languages a plus
