WorldQuant develops and deploys systematic financial strategies across a broad range of asset classes and global markets. The role: Our team is working on WorldQuant's next generation distributed post-execution processing system that provides a real-time view into the firm's investment activities and risk. Our system needs to process massive volumes of transaction and market data in a latency sensitive manner with correctness, consistency and reliability in mind. We work in an agile environment, and participate in all aspects of SDE life-cycle from design, development, testing to deployment and support. As an engineer, you have a chance to work on various parts of this system, and get a first-hand working knowledge of how the investment process moves from execution to settlement. Our system is continually evolving in terms of both scale as well as new business features.
What you'll bring:
- Strong JavaScript developer with 4-6 years of experience.
- Experience with React development using TypeScript.
- Experience building Single-page web applications (SPAs)
- Experience with both REST and WebSocket-based APIs
- Experience with client-side caching techniques
- Knowledge of JSON and Binary formats client-side data formats
- Working knowledge of SQL, and familiarity with how databases work.
- Experience with JavaScript Testing Frameworks
- Experience working with JavaScript Build Tools (e.g. webpack, NPM), Source Control (GIT) and CI/CD tools such as GitLab.
- Strong communication skills
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience with some Python (3.0+) development. (Very light if any)
- Experience with Kubernetes and/or other orchestration frameworks
