Position Specific Description
This position facilitates the structuring and execution of transactions primarily for environmental projects with particular emphasis on new projects, customers and/or regions. Employees in this role work closely with originators and potential customers to understand their needs and develop product structures to meet them. Individuals are responsible for financial modeling and creating necessary deal pitch material in order to navigate a rigorous internal vetting process. This position must work with several different internal departments, such as Legal, Credit, Accounting, and Risk in order to execute the structured transaction.
• Communicates directly with potential customers and originators to gain an understanding of customer needs in order to propose solutions, and/or negotiate deal structures and documents that meet those needs
• Create financial models for potential deals and/or new environmental projects
• Oversees, guides, and negotiates the contract and related documents that will be signed between the Company and the counterparty
• Prepares presentations and other internal communications for senior leadership to guide and support the internal vetting process
• Coordinates with internal departments involved in the transaction such as Legal, Credit, Accounting, and Risk Management
• Presents deal to senior leadership, seeking approval of the proposed deal structure
This position identifies and closes structured power and/or fuel purchase and sales. Employees in this role maintain an understanding of (1) the power/energy markets in the assigned region, (2) the relevant regulations for regional wholesale energy generation and transmission, (3) state of business within the market and (4) power and/or fuel related supply/demand fundamentals. This position utilizes market knowledge and available data to identify trends and any gaps in readily available hedging products that could lead to opportunities with target entities.
