Market Data Specialist

As a Market Data Specialist, you'll manage the full cycle of Market Data, optimizing data usage and procurement while meeting internal demand requirements and usage controls. You'll scale Optiver's market data footprint, interpret permitted use and commercial policies, and identify business needs and opportunities related to market data. Additionally, you'll assist in selecting new data products and ensure effective market data governance. This role requires a keen interest in financial markets, strong analytical skills, and excellent interpersonal abilities.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Scale Optiver's market data footprint to meet evolving business needs.
  • Manage Market Data Services and ensure compliance with usage controls and policies.
  • Collaborate with Service owners to interpret permitted use and ensure compliance.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage market data for business impact.
  • Assist in selecting new data products to enhance capabilities.
  • Support effective governance and responsible data management.
  • Monitor and optimize market data spend.
  • Report and manage exchange data entitlements.

Some examples of day to day tasks: 

  • Contract reviews.
  • Respond to ad-hoc data related questions from the business.
  • Vendor relationship management.
  • Investigate, negotiate and own the procurement of new and renewing Market Data contracts.
  • Monthly data usage reporting to exchanges.
  • Manage Bloomberg terminals.
  • Cost & Invoice approvals.
  • Own Market Data Audits.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal English.
  • Strong interest and/or knowledge of financial markets and market data.
  • Detailed analytical skills for informed decision-making.
  • Proven track record of building trusted relationships.
  • 1-3 years of analytical experience, preferably in market data or finance.
  • Proven risk management mindset.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with SQL and Python is a plus.
  • Market Data experience is advantageous.
