*HYBRID  - Will work out of the Board of Trade building in downtown Chicago a few days a week 

Summary: The role will support PEAK6 InsurTech, We Insure and Team Focus. The job responsibilities will include performance of journal entries, account reconciliations, customer billing, and process improvement projects. Will be asked to pull data as questions arise. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Perform assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger closing and reporting responsibilities
  • Performing journal entries and complex account reconciliations, including identification and remediation of all issues in compliance with company policies
  • Support the annually audit by providing supporting schedules as requested
  • Collaborating with teammates and management to identify, design, and implement process improvements and policies for greater efficiency
  • Creating, maintaining and updating procedures
  • Understanding business changes and trends to ensure proper reporting of business activity
  • Support management in other ad-hoc projects and assignments, as needed

Job Requirements:
•    0 - 3 years’ experience in Accounting
•    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required – Working toward Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a plus
•    Prior insurance industry experience is a plus
•    Experience with NetSuite software is a positive
•    Strong analytical ability and perseverance to solve problems with high attention to detail
•    Experience with multiple entities is preferred
•    Must be able to handle multiple tasks within an established time line
•    Must be a team player and capable of working in a fast paced environment
•    Strong commitment to ethics and integrity

PEAK6 InsurTech currently requires all employees as a condition of employment to either be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or submit to regular testing. The CDC defines "fully vaccinated" as two weeks after the second dose for Pfizer and Moderna, and two weeks after the single dose of Johnson & Johnson.  PEAK6 InsurTech will also require proof of vaccination and/or testing.   PEAK6 InsurTech will also consider requests for exemption from these requirements as a reasonable accommodation for medical reasons or sincerely held religious beliefs.
