Job Summary:

As the Director of Sales for our organization's PolicyPort product, you will be responsible for leading our sales team to achieve revenue targets and growth objectives. Your primary goal will be to drive sales and expand our customer base while maintaining our reputation for excellent customer service. This role will play a crucial part in helping our company achieve its goal of becoming a leader in the insurance technology industry.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to close sales, achieve revenue targets and growth objectives for the PolicyPort product.
  • Lead and manage the sales team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure their success.
  • Identify and prospect potential clients through product marketing, industry events, conferences and other opportunities to build relationships and generate leads.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients and partners, working to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and developments, identifying new market opportunities and helping to shape the future direction of the PolicyPort product.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments, including product development, customer service and marketing, to ensure that sales efforts are aligned with overall company objectives.
  • Develop and maintain sales reports, metrics, and forecasts to monitor and analyze sales performance.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and competitor activity to ensure our platform meets the evolving needs of the industry.

Tools and Reporting Responsibilities:

  • Utilize CRM software and other sales tools to manage and track leads, prospects, and sales activity.
  • Prepare regular reports and analysis on sales performance, as well as market trends and opportunities.
  • Communicate regularly with senior management regarding sales metrics, forecasts, and performance.

Decision Making Authority:  

  • Determine sales strategies and tactics to achieve revenue targets and growth objectives.
  • Make decisions on pricing, contract negotiations, sales terms, and other sales-related matters.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and management skills with a proven track record in sales, preferably in the insurance industry, and leading a sales team.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • In-depth knowledge of sales principles, practices, and techniques, with a particular focus on software and technology sales.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities.
  • Experience with CRM software and other sales tools, as well as a strong aptitude for technology.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in sales, including 5+ years in a leadership or management role.
  • Proven track record of success in software and technology sales, with experience selling to the insurance industry preferred.

 Work Environment:

  • This role will require up to 50% travel to meet with clients and attend industry events.
  • The role will be primarily office-based when not traveling, with some remote work flexibility.
  • The position may require occasional evening and weekend work to meet with clients in different time zones.

Physical Requirements (if applicable): 

  • The role requires sitting for extended periods of time, as well as working on a computer and using a phone while traveling.
